Who is responsible
Mohamed Ali Bachar, for Atelier Chouette, a registered sole proprietorship, 677 rue Claudia, Laval, Quebec H7P 2X9. That is the person responsible for the protection of personal information under Quebec’s private-sector privacy law.
What we collect
Here is the complete list.
- What you write in either of the two contact forms, the one on the French page and the one on the English page: name, company, phone, email, city, trade and message. Name and email are required. The rest you fill in if you feel like it. The form also carries a hidden field used to turn away robots; it stays empty when a person is the one writing.
- What you choose and write in the case study’s call-back request (the short questionnaire at the bottom of the page, in French and in English): your trade, your current situation and your region, picked from buttons, then your first name and phone number, both required so we can call you back. It carries the same hidden field against robots.
- Site traffic data, through Google Analytics 4, property G-8LEW3B9CLT: pages viewed, how you arrived on the site, device type, approximate region. We add a few specific actions to that, so we can tell what earns its place on the site and what does nothing: a click on the phone number, a click on the email address, a click through to the booking calendar, a click on a call-to-action button, and the fact that a form was started, sent and received. Each of those actions is recorded with the language of the page and the part of the page the click came from. None of it says who you are. None of it is attached to your name or your email address.
- Booking a call tells us nothing about you. The booking button sends you over to Google Calendar. What you enter there to set up the appointment is collected by Google, under its own rules. This site keeps no record of it. All it records is that a booking button was clicked.
Why
What comes in through the forms is used to answer you and to prepare the call, if you ask for one. The traffic data is used to know whether the site is useful and where to improve it.
We sell nothing to anyone, we rent this information to no one, and we do not use it to send you advertising.
How long we keep it
- Requests received through the forms: long enough to answer you, then in the company’s records for as long as the relationship is useful on both sides. You can ask us to erase them at any time.
- Traffic data: 14 months, after which Google erases it automatically.
Who else has access
The forms are handled by Netlify, which hosts the site, and the requests reach us by email. The traffic data is handled by Google Analytics. Booking happens on Google’s own service. The 3D demo pages fetch the Three.js library from unpkg, which then receives your device’s IP address and the HTTP request. These providers keep data outside Quebec. No one else has access.
Cookies
Google Analytics drops cookies in your browser so it can recognize one visit from one page to the next. You can block them or erase them in your browser settings: the site keeps working normally, and we simply see one visit fewer.
The confirmation page shown after a form is sent keeps one value in your browser’s session storage, so the same request is not counted twice. That value holds no personal information and disappears when you close the tab.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, and to withdraw your consent. Write to us and we answer. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
